Bottled by: Hunter Laing 70cl / 50%
A fantastic single cask, single malt scotch whisky bottled by Hunter Laing to celebrate their 20th Anniversary of the Old Malt Cask Series...
A 2006 single cask Laphroaig bottled by Hunter Laing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their Old Malt Cask series. Bottled in August 2018 as a 12-year-old with a yield of 485 bottles from a refill hogshead.
Laphroaig was founded in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston and the name roughly translates to "broad hollow by the bay". Laphroaig also still has its own floor maltings, mainly due to the fact they believe the kiln gives better flavour than malt received from the local maltings and it is important to Laphroaig's characteristic flavour. After changing hands a few time the distillery was awarded the Royal Warrant by Prince Charles in 1994, and in the same year as the "Friends of Laphroaig" was launched whereby people who join are rewarded with 1ft x 1ft plot of land near the distillery.
