Glengoyne has a rich history and has stood on the same site since 1833. It has two types of fermentation, long and very long, and they also have the slowest stills in Scotland. Historically they have only air dried the barley, resulting in a totally smoke-free whisky.
The quirky thing about Glengoyne is that as it is located on the Lowland/Highland border the spirit is distilled on site in the Highlands and maturation takes place just over the road in the warehouses that are located in the Lowlands.
