Douglas & Hunter Laing

Douglas & Hunter Laing

Douglas Laing was established as a blending house back in 1948 and went on to have success with delux blends such as King Of Scots. The company began to bottle single casks around 1999 and has since grown into one of Scotland’s major Independent Bottlers. It’s earliest - and still most famous - ranges are the Old Malt Cask, Old & Rare and Provenance (under its subsidiary company name Douglas McGibbon). All bottled single casks at varying degrees of strength. Numerous great and famous bottlings appeared in these ranges throughout the 2000s. Later brands and ranges included Director’s Cut, Old Particular, Premier Barrel, Clan Denny (primarily aged grain whiskies) and Big Peat. In 2013 the company split to form two separate companies, the new one being Hunter Laing. Hunter Laing kept the Old Malt Cask and Old & Rare range along with the more obscure Douglas Of Drumlanrig range. They continue to bottle single casks in these ranges much as before.
