Maclean's Nose is a blended Scotch whisky from Ardnamurchan / Adelphi, and is named after both a local coastal promontory near Ardnamurchan distillery and the famous neb of Adelphi's Chief Nose, Charles Maclean - one of the finest snouts in the business.
Maclean's Nose looks to be one of the more exciting blends released in 2023, with an oily, coastal character from its very high malt content of around 70%. Maclean's Nose boasts a significant proportion of sherry casks in the recipe and has been bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration - this looks like an absolute steal at this price.

Nose: Burnt citrus peel,sea salt, bonfire. Nectarine syrup, lime marmalade, hay bales, coal bunker and oilyshed.
Palate: Puffed rice, homemade rice pudding and white chocolate. Bright citruslime pickle. Chantilly cream and Viennetta ice cream. Ferrero Rocher. Hessian. Burning heather and smoked praline.

I haven't managed to taste it yet as I am waiting for a special occasion. But the bottle was beautifully presented. It has an amazing metal horse topper and the glass bottle feels very strong and is also a beautiful shape. The box came in great condition and was packaged very securely. I was surprised how quickly it was delivered. I'd recommend this whisky and this website to everyone.
