This Symington's Choice 25-year-old Laphroaig 1998 came from Cask 1049, a single bourbon barrel that yielded 178 bottles at a potent natural cask strength of 54.9%. Indie Laphroaig at this sort of age has always been historically hard to come by, making this prestige Symington's Choice cask pretty exciting stuff for Islay fans.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
