Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Signatory Vintage 70cl / 47.8%
Glentauchers is a worthy but obscure Speyside distillery whose spirit is a key malt in owner Pernod Ricard's Ballantine's blended Scotch whisky. Thankfully there seems to be a ready supply of Glentauchers casks for the indie bottlers.
This one is a little older than most - a pair of 1997 Glentauchers bourbon barrels that yielded just 340 bottles between them for this 21-year-old Signatory Cask Strength Collection bottling. A naturally low cask strength of 47.8% suggests that this will be packed with biscuity, honeyed, meadowy Speyside flavours.
