Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 51%
A single cask Bowmore 1996 25-year-old bottled by Douglas Laing in 2022 without colouring or chill filtration for their XOP (Extra Old Particular) range.
Bowmore 1996 25-year-old Cask DL15647 was a refill hogshead that yielded 194 bottles at a strength of 51%, and if you've ever had any Bowmore from the magical run of mid-1990s vintages you'll know what to expect - a masterclass of seaweedy coastal notes and gentle smoke, usually with plenty of sweet exotic fruit. This will be a brilliant dram.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose immediately shows cured meats, peated barley and a damp earth sweetness.
Palate: The fulsome palate delivers Islay in a bottle – seaweed, charred oak and streaky bacon – balanced by a sweet, moreish character.
Finish: The finish goes on and on and on with much of what went before.
