Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Direct Wines Ltd 70cl / 46%
The First Cask series of single malt whiskies bottled at 46% that were sold by mail order wine firm Direct Wines in the '90s and early 2000s, and are an amazing snapshot of what whiskies were available to independent bottlers in that golden age.
The single malts for the First Cask series were all bottled at 46% and the casks were supplied by Signatory Vintage and are therefore generally excellent. Some quite rare distilleries were bottled in this series, including this Inchgower 1980 bottled from what looks to be a sherry cask as a 24-year-old towards the end of First Cask's main run.
Please note that this bottle's label shows cellar damage and is sold as seen.
