This limited edition bottling was the first official distillery release from Brora since the 2017 Diageo Special Releases, and was produced in 2019 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the distillery ahead of its planned reopening in 2020 (now scheduled for later in 2021).
This liquid was drawn from 12 specially selected refill American hogsheads that where filled in 1978 and bottled some 40 years later in 2019 with an ABV of 49.2% and an outturn of just 1819 bottles.
The taste is typically Brora as you would expect, with a rich, smoky nose and a palate of dried fruits, figs and raisins and that delicious peat smoke drifting through. Amazing!
