Blended Scotch Whisky
830ml / 43%
A very rare and beautiful bottling, Grand Old Parr Elizabethan was a limited edition of 252 pewter-stoppered decanters containing exceptional old Scotch whisky released by Diageo's Greenlees Brothers subsidiary.
The Grand Old Parr Elizabethan decanters are hand-blown and therefore vary slightly in size, but all are over 800ml. This is decanter No.8, with a stated volume of 830ml. Each decanter is decorated with fine weaving in the style of Elizabethan lace patterns, and features pewter-framed enamel portraits of Parr himself, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and James I - just three of the ten monarchs that reigned during Parr's claimed lifetime of 1483-1635.
Old Tom Parr passed away at the age of 152 shortly after arriving in London on a tour celebrating his longevity. The last king he lived under was Charles I, who paid for his funeral and interment in Westminster Abbey.
In original boxes, and complete with hardcover The Golden Age booklet. Box showing signs of wear with patina in general.
