Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled By Douglas Laing 70cl / 54.2%
Now in its 12th year, Douglas Laing's Big Peat Cask Strength Christmas Edition is a firm favourite with Islay malt fans and the bottle that many whisky drinkers look forward to finding in their stockings on Christmas morn.
Douglas Laing's Big Peat Christmas 2022 is, as ever, a cask strength (54.2% this time) Islay blended malt whisky bottled without colouring or chill filtration, and the named distilleries for the 2022 bottling include Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and (somehow, still) Port Ellen, though we'd imagine the latter is measured in teaspoons.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Anticipate burnt caramel, wafts of Hebridean sea air and notes of enticing peat smoke.
Palate: Delivers the ultimate distillation of Islay: reminiscent of bonfire ashes and rich earthy notes balanced by a toasted marshmallow sweetness.
Finish: Whilst these winter days may be short, the finish is satisfyingly long, with more of what went before.
