Description

Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 59.1%

New on our shop we have the Autumn 2020 releases from Alistair Walkers Infrequent Flyers series.

Release number 26 is a bit of a sherry bomb beast and is one of the stars of this batch of releases. This whisky was distilled in 2009 and aged in a PX sherry puncheon cask #6343 until it was bottled 11 years later at a hefty natural cask strength of 59.1% with a yield of 611 bottles.

Who doesn't love a beast of a sherry bomb? This is a seriously very good whisky indeed.

Tasting Notes

Alistair's Tasting Notes
Colour: Mahogany.
Nose: Brown sugar, coconut and Morello cherries. Heavily stewed raisins and sultanas. Treacle toffee.
Taste: Super sweet, rich and velvety. Really big raisin and sultana notes, reminiscent of clootie dumplings. Mocha and cocoa. Just a hint of cinnamon.
Finish: Long and syrupy. Deceptively smooth - no indication that this sits at a chunky 59.1% vol.
