A single cask 2008 Mannochmore bottled as a 15-year-old without colouring or chill filtration in 2023 by Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for their Infrequent Flyers series.
This 15-year-old Mannochmore 2008 was finished in a hogshead cask that previously held Italian heavyweight red wine Barolo, which yielded 315 bottles at its natural cask strength of 54.5% and should have added rich berry fruit flavours to Mannochmore's steely, grassy, biscuity spirit. This will be a delight for red wine finish whisky fans.

Colour: Golden straw.
Nose: Soft fruits - gooseberry, peach and baked apples.
Palate: A complex dram, gradually revealing more with each subsequent visit. Creamy, with a definite sweetnes - caramel brittle and butterscotch. Pronouned fruity notes, with a tangy edge - cranberry, apricot and clementines. A pleasant, warming spice note emerges towards the end.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.

I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
