From the Archives. ''An excuse alike for selfishness and great generosity. Springbank. The dark red of Honduras mahogany, beads right round the brim and breath of Jerez all indicate the same thing: the first fill of a great oloroso cask and 27 years' maturation in the old warehouse in Campbeltown. A nose of candied peel, muscovado sugar, allspice and cloves, with water gives way to a fruity floweriness. The taste is of perfumed barley-sugar or prunes in port wine. The finish is long and dry. It is dear, but worth every penny. It is excuse alike for selfishness and for a great generosity.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
