Auchentoshan 1966-1997 | 31 Year Old
Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 45.8%
This is a stunningly fruity dram, masses of soft green fruits, gentle spices and cereal complexity. One of the best Auchentoshans ever bottled...
Auchentoshan cask number 1004 was a single 1966 hogshead bottled at 31 years of age and 45.8%. As we have mentioned before, probably one of the finest Auchentoshans ever bottled.
Auchentoshan, Gaelic for "Corner of the field" was founded in 1817 and is situated today at the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills near the Erskine Bridge. It changed hands many times until 1969 when it was sold to Eddie Cairns who then proceeded to upgrade the distillery and then sold it to Stanley Morrison (later Morrison Bowmore) in 1984. It is known as the only Scotch whisky that is fully triple distilled and is today owned by Edrington Beam Suntory.
