The house style at this time was similarly light but with some interesting oily attributes and more green, herbaceous qualities. A must try for Auchentoshan fans keen to brush up on their history.
Auchentoshan, Gaelic for "Corner of the field" was founded in 1817 and is situated today at the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills near the Erskine Bridge. It changed hands many times until 1969 when it was sold to Eddie Cairns who then proceeded to upgrade the distillery and then sold it to Stanley Morrison (later Morrison Bowmore) in 1984. It is known as the only Scotch whisky that is fully triple distilled and is today owned by Edrington Beam Suntory.
