Ardbeg 1974-2006 | 32 Year Old | Single Cask 3324

REF: 7497

Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 53.9%

One of the harder to find official Ardbeg single casks with only 118 bottles produced from cask number 3324, a bourbon barrel. Distilled in the great vintage that was 1974 and bottled nearly 32 years later in 2006. This is every inch the classic 1970s Ardbeg, brimming with intensely oily, simmering peat smoke with lashings of tar, old rope, sea water, boiler smoke, light farm yard touches and big notes of iodine, camphor and dunnage warehouses. One of numerous real masterpieces in this series.

Macallan 1950-2006 | Speymalt

REF: 7440

Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 43%

A 1950 Macallan bottled 2006 by G&M under their Speymalt label after 56 years of ageing in sherry casks. An astonishing whisky at only a fraction of the price of an official offering of similar age. One of these ancient Speysiders that somehow seems to combine everything that is magical about these old drams, exuberant and intense fruitiness of all kinds, a myriad of different spices, sweetness and dryness in turns, touches of ancient peat smoke and all kinds of medical complexities, rancio, natural tar, smoke, numerous herbal notes, liqueurs, citrus oils, gamey notes and an immensely long finish that would suggest a whisky way above 43%. A true but humble masterpiece and a once in a lifetime drinking opportunity. How many more of these bottlings can G&M possibly produce?
