Brora Distillery

Brora Distillery

Brora (pronounced: BROAR-a) is one of the most cult and fascinating distilleries in the world. Every bit as missed as Port Ellen but treasured and valued even more highly by a smaller, truly devout crowd of followers of this great malt. It was founded by the Marquess of Stafford in 1819 as Clynelish distillery, a name that would become synonymous with great malt whisky to both blenders and discerning drinkers alike for much of its life time.

Total Brora Distillery Whiskies Found: 2

Brora 1977 | 21 Year | Rare Malts Selection

REF: 5217

Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 56.90%

Although the peat was not as excessive as in earlier years, 1977 still saw the production of some stellar whisky at Brora. Big, fat, oily and phenolic whisky with a wonderfully fine line between farmyard and coastal characteristics. This Rare Malts bottling from way back in 1998 is a bit of an overlooked classic.
