Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky – distilled on the island of Islay in the village of Bowmore for over 200 years and today widely recognized and regarded as one of the finest single malt Scotch whiskies in the world. In fact the Bowmore 18 year old recently won the WSC prize for the best whisky in the World out of over 700 other competitors in a blind tasting.
Also the Malt Advocate Whisky Awards were announced just prior to WhiskyFest New York. The awards ceremony occurred at the Marriott Marquis on Times Square. Aromas of burnt peat and chocolate. Balanced, rich and smooth with the characteristic peat, and trace of iodine, of Islay. Smoky, with a hint of seaweed. Definite edge of salt.
